These Terms and Conditions are written and interpreted in Thai. When DD Rent a car provides excerpts of these Terms and Conditions or translates them into other languages, the translated versions are provided merely as reference information. In the event of any inconsistency between the Thai version of these Terms and Conditions and any translated version, the Thai version shall prevail. Terms and Conditions (Summary)

  • ◾Customers must study and understand traffic laws and road signs of Japan and comply strictly.
  • ◾Driving under the influence is strictly prohibited. If found violating, legal action may be taken.
  • ◾Smoking inside the car is prohibited. A fine of 10,000 JPY will be imposed for violations.
  • ◾Please make sure to remove all trash from the vehicle before returning it. If any garbage is found left behind and/or if the car is excessively dirty due to the user’s actions, a cleaning fee of 5,000 to 20,000 JPY will be charged, depending on the actual assessment by the service provider.
  • ◾Relieving oneself (including urination or defecation) inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited.
  • ◾Damages to the interior of the car due to the customer's actions will be charged based on the cost of the damaged parts.
  • ◾Lost, damaged, or non-functional keys will incur a fine of 40,000 JPY per key.
  • ◾For self-drive car rentals, the price includes tax, insurance, and the ETC card rental (toll fees are not included and will be paid after the car is returned). Customers must refuel the car to full before returning it, or additional fuel charges will apply.
  • ◾For car rentals with a driver, the price includes tax, insurance, toll fees, and fuel (service not available yet).
  • ◾If the customer is traveling with children under 6 years old, a car seat is required by Japanese law. The rental fee for a car seat is 1,000 JPY per piece per rental period. (Special offer: free during promotional periods. Please inform the staff in advance to request a car seat.)

Payment and Service Usage Terms (Summary)

  • ◾Credit/Debit card payments will be subject to a 5% surcharge on the charged amount. Payments made in cash or via bank transfer will not incur any additional fees.
  • ◾A 30% deposit of the total amount is required upon booking.
  • ◾The reservation will not be confirmed unless the deposit payment is made as specified.
  • ◾The remaining 70% of the total rental fee must be paid before receiving the car and using the rental service.
  • ◾If the ETC toll system is used during the rental period, the toll charges will be collected upon returning the vehicle.
  • ◾If the renter wishes to change the rental date after completing the reservation: 1.) Changes made at least 72 hours (3 days) prior to the rental start date can be made free of charge. 2.) Changes made less than 72 hours (3 days) before the rental start date may incur an additional fee, subject to the discretion of the service provider (please inquire for details).
  • ◾Additional Charges for Exceeding the 24-Hour Rental Period (If notified in advance before booking) During service hours (09:00–20:00), an extra fee of 1,100 JPY per hour per vehicle will be charged for exceeding the 24-hour rental period. (Any extra minutes will be rounded up to the next full hour. If the delay exceeds 5 hours, it will be considered as 1 full day.)
  • ◾Late Return Penalty (Without Prior Notice at the Time of Booking) During service hours (09:00–20:00): An additional penalty of 3,000 JPY per hour per vehicle will be charged. - If the delay is 1–30 minutes, it will be rounded up to half an hour: 1,500 JPY per vehicle - If the delay is 31 minutes or more, it will be rounded up to 1 hour: 3,000 JPY per vehicle Outside service hours (Before 09:00 / After 20:00): An additional penalty of 5,000 JPY per hour per vehicle will be charged. - If the delay is 1–30 minutes, it will be rounded up to half an hour: 2,500 JPY per vehicle - If the delay is 31 minutes or more, it will be rounded up to 1 hour: 5,000 JPY per vehicle
  • ◾No refunds will be provided for any cancellations.
  • ◾**All rates are subject to change based on exchange rate fluctuations and peak seasons in Japan. Please confirm the final pricing at the time of service usage.**
Important! What should I do if there is a collision or an accident without a third party involved?

In the event of a collision or an accident with no third party, the customer must notify our company immediately at the time of the incident.
If the customer is at fault or if there is no third party involved, the customer will be responsible for various charges including the NOC (Non-Operation Charge) and the Excess (deductible cost).
These charges will be assessed by our on-site staff and will range from ¥20,000 to ¥150,000, depending on the level of damage.

🛑 In the event of an accident during the rental period where the vehicle becomes unusable:
The renter is responsible for any damage according to the company’s terms and conditions.

1. If the renter is not at fault
   – No excess (deductible) will be charged
   – The rental contract will be immediately terminated
   – Refund for the remaining rental days will be at the discretion of the on-site staff

2. If the renter is at fault and/or there is no third party involved
   – Penalty charges will apply as listed
   – The rental contract will be immediately terminated
   – No refund will be given for any remaining rental days

⚙️ In the event of mechanical failure during the rental period (not caused by an accident) where the vehicle becomes unusable:
The renter is responsible for any damage according to the company’s terms and conditions.

1. If the failure is not caused by the renter
   – Examples include engine failure, dead battery, or electrical malfunction
   – The company will provide a replacement vehicle of the same or similar model

2. If the failure is caused by the renter’s actions
   – Penalty charges will apply as listed
   – The rental contract will be immediately terminated

🔧 Additional Note:
In the case of flat tires or tire blowouts, regardless of the cause, the renter is fully responsible for all related expenses.

Terms and Conditions of DD Rent a Car

Chapter 1: General Provisions

Article 1: General Provisions

These terms and conditions constitute an agreement between DD Rent a Car (hereinafter referred to as the "Company") and the customer (hereinafter referred to as the "User") regarding the use of car rental services and related services. The User must comply with these terms and conditions when using the Company's services.
  2. The User agrees to abide by these terms and conditions, including any additional terms that may be updated in the future.
  3. The Company reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.
Article 2: Services Provided
  1. The Company provides car rental services both domestically and internationally.
  2. The related services include car bookings, payments, changes or cancellations of bookings, and providing guidance on the use of the services.

Chapter 2: Use of Services

Article 3: How to Use the Service
  1. The User must review and accept these terms before using the Company's services.
  2. Car rentals must be made through the Company's website or app, and the User must be a member of the Company and accept the service usage terms.
  3. The User is responsible for all actions related to the use of the services, including renting the car from the Company.
Article 4: Cancellation and Changes to Bookings
  1. Cancellations or changes to bookings must be made within the timeframe set by the Company.
  2. In case of cancellation or changes, the User may be required to pay fees or charges as set by the Company.

Chapter 3: Payment and Fees

Article 5: Payment
  1. The User must pay the service fees as specified in the car rental agreement or receipt.
  2. Payment can be made through various methods specified by the Company, such as credit cards, bank transfers, or other methods designated by the Company.
Article 6: Additional Fees
  1. The User must pay additional fees in case of using supplementary services, such as insurance, return fees for cars at non-designated locations, etc.
Article 7: Costs Due to Violations
  1. The User is responsible for any fines or charges arising from violations of the terms or improper use of the services as defined by the Company.

Chapter 4: Liability and Disclaimers

Article 8: Limitation of Liability
  1. The Company is not liable for damages caused by illegal use or improper use of the services.
  2. The Company reserves the right to change these terms without prior notice.
Article 9: Service Termination
  1. The Company may terminate the service in cases where the User engages in illegal activities or violates the terms set by the Company.

Article 10: Governing Law
  1. These terms and conditions shall be interpreted and governed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
